Demdex is used by its clients to capture anonymous data from the clients' owned-and-operated websites and to connect this data with the multiple advertising systems used by each client, including ad servers and content management systems. If a Demdex client purchases anonymous third party data from a data exchange or data seller, the Demdex audience management platform is used to manage that data as well. Demdex has no rights to the data it enables its clients to collect and therefore is unable to use this data in any manner other than providing its services to its clients.
The Demdex audience data management platform is the steward for its clients' data. In addition to facilitating the safe, secure collection of data we also help our clients manage their data in a manner that is consistent with their stated privacy policy and the relevant federal laws.
We believe that transparency for consumers is critical and that they have the right to understand who is collecting data about them so that they may make an informed choice about whether to opt-out of targeted advertising. To that end, we own and operate www.DoNotTarget.com, which gives consumers an easy way to opt-out of audience targeting by Demdex clients.
